Sandy Muirhead-Gould was born in Washington DC. She holds a B.S. in Education, an M.A. in English, and she is retired from her position as an Adjunct Instructor of English at Kent State University. Sandy has studied dance at The University of Akron, Fred Astaire in North Canton, and Walsh University and has taken classes with by Toni Dovolani, Jonathan Roberts, and Anna Trebunskaya. As a student of Rob and Kim McNamara and Sheila Whitlock, Sandy has taught ballroom dance as part of the Stark State College Continuing Education program, Aultman Primetime, and Stark Country District Library. Sandy gives private and group lessons in cha, swing, waltz, fox trot, rumba, bolero, American Tango, night club two-step, meringue, salsa, Argentine Tango, and Viennese Waltz. Sandy also does choreography for weddings.
Sandy has been an active member of Canton Audubon Society for the past fifteen years, serving as 1st Vice President and Publicity Chairperson. As a member of Toastmasters International, she has completed an ACB and is past VP of Public Relations. She enjoys bird watching and has traveled to Texas, Maine, Arizona, Canada, Mexico, England and Scotland and more recently to Spain, Amsterdam, Ecuador, Peru, Argentina, Hong Kong, China, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, India, Germany, France, Belgium, and Tanzania. She has studied Argentine tango with some of the finest teachers. Sandy has two children and four grandchildren.
